![]() The alternate fix that I found that worked for me was, with SteamVR closed, go to Device Manager, and look at the "Sound, video and game controllers" dropdown. (You should still give this method a try though if you don't have the drivers and are having sound problems. I had to run DDU (driver remover software) to remove it. For me, it crashes my graphics drivers under high load. However, I forgot that the reason why I never had NVIDIA HD Audio drivers installed in the first place is because it is notorious for causing a lot of problems. This fixed the audio issues for me completely. For me, that's the NVIDIA HD Audio drivers. The easy fix is to install the the sound drivers for your GPU. Even in Windows, when I click on the "Test" button for the sound input (which usually plays a sound), I get an error instead saying the input can't play any sound.
